Zoey is our senior citizen puppy, and Clouseau’s best friend. We met Zoey when she was 2 days old and she fit in the palm of our hand... and to date, she whole heartedly believes she's still that same miniscule size, gleefully leveraging herself onto the laps and subsequent face of any unsuspecting visitor. Gifted with an overabundance of affection, Zoey's favorite day consists of dolling out loving ear licks in the lap of her favorite friend (Lynel or the nearest cat) while being belly rubbed and stuffed with tri-tip. Being a bull mastiff, people are commonly threatened by her form, but in truth Zoey's list of fears (including Jack-O-Lanterns) is far longer than those she intimidates. Zoey's favorite playmates are unthreatening tiny little dog's, ones matching the insubstantial body image she envisions for herself.
The shot of Zoey looking at the casserole on the kitchen counter proved to be a surprising challenge. She is a first rate food thief, but is quite sneaky. Trying to get her to take a look at the casserole in ‘plane sight’ ran directly against her sly thieving instincts. Prolonged reassurance and coaxing was required to get her to play along. Of course the real challenge occurred after the photo session when we had to re-instill that it's normally frowned on to shove your face into any reachable countertop casserole.
