Though founded in humor, The Ruff Ride project has the underlying aim to increase awareness and empathy towards the many dogs directly impacted by this recession.

Pets have been hit the hardest during these times of economic hardship. Abandoned during foreclosures and often the first to go when financial instability sets in, the kennels are overflowing beyond capacity with our loyal canine comrades. Death in mass is far too common of a solution during times like these.

By featuring these humble hounds in our images, it not only allows us to find humor in typically dire economic circumstances, it also illustrates the more intimate point that this is a challenge both man and dog must face together. Our canine companions are very much in this too and rather than considering them as an unessential financial burden, they should be viewed as an indispensable source of inspiration capable of lifting ones spirits even during the darkest hours of despair.
